"Hair of the Dog" Bloody Mary

The Serrano version of this mix took Double Gold in New York City right before COVID — and honestly, the dried mix might be even better. Here it is, the morning-after classic.

Method

  1. 1

Add 1–2 tablespoons of the Hair of the Dog mix to 8 ounces of tomato juice.

  2. 2

Shake it up hard until the dried mix fully dissolves and the juice turns silky.

  3. 3

Pour over a tall glass of ice and add your vodka or tequila.

  4. 4

Garnish big — celery, olives, shrimp, and (Keith's way) a pork rib hanging off the rim.

Keith's note

Start with one tablespoon and taste — the dried lime sneaks up on you. Want it like the award winner? Use the Serrano mix and don't skip the pork rib.
